Mowers, landscaping gear, and yard materials
ATVs and a side-by-side (see the photo on our In Action page)

Skid steers and heavier equipment
Two side-by-sides on one deck
Ramps plus a 2 ft dovetail for a low loading angle

What is GVWR? Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is the most the trailer may weigh fully loaded, meaning the trailer itself plus everything on it. Your tow vehicle's towing capacity needs to cover the loaded weight too.

A few essentials before you hook up and head out. We share more practical towing and safety tips on social — follow along.
Hitch, chains & electricalConfirm the hitch is rated and locked, safety chains are crossed under the tongue, and lights/brake wiring are plugged in and working before you leave.
Tire pressure (cold)Check trailer (and tow vehicle) tire pressure when tires are cold. Underinflated tires overheat and can fail under load.
Load balance — about 60% forwardKeep roughly 60% of the cargo weight ahead of the trailer axles for stable tongue weight. Too much weight in the rear can cause sway.
Weight distributing hitchA weight distributing hitch spreads the trailer's tongue weight across the axles of your tow vehicle and trailer. That keeps the load and tow vehicle level, which helps steering and braking. Available for both of our rental trailers — ask about adding one to your rental.
Brake controller for heavy loadsOur 24 ft 10k flatbed requires a properly rated tow vehicle and a working brake controller. If you are unsure, ask us before pickup.
Strap down every loadTie the load down at four points or more with rated ratchet straps or chains, pulling forward and back as well as side to side. Pull over and recheck the straps after the first few miles, because loads settle.
Ramps and gate up and securedBefore you pull away, make sure the ramps or rear gate are raised and locked or pinned in place, so they can’t bounce loose or drag on the road.
If the trailer starts to swayEase off the gas, keep the steering wheel straight, and don't slam on the brakes. If you have a brake controller, a light squeeze of the manual trailer brake can help pull the trailer back in line. Once you're stopped, check the load balance before going on.
Give yourself extra roomA loaded trailer takes longer to stop and needs wider turns. Leave more space to the car ahead, swing wide at corners, change lanes gradually, and when backing up go slowly, ideally with a helper outside guiding you.
